| RealityLINx Exchange
| RealityLINx Exchange enables laser scan data integration with leading
design systems. Users can work efficiently with scan data directly from their CAD environment. Simple
tools are available for viewing, slicing, navigating, measuring, and working with photorealistic point
cloud data to speed up the design and drawing creation process. |
| Laser scan data (in the form of Scan Regions) are overlaid seamlessly within the Design environment,
enabling designers to:
| route new piping or duct systems |
| design new equipment or structures |
| locate lighting, instrument, and electrical systems |
| precisely locate tie-in or other critical locations.
| With RealityLINx® Exchange, users will have a better understanding of the existing conditions in the areas they are working - all from within the comfort of their favorite design software. |
| To view the scan data in the design system, users simply have to ‘connect’ to Exchange, select an
object in their design model and RealityLINx® will retrieve the scan data for that area and display it. |
| Adjacent data can be added to the display with another click. |
| Scan data can be easily clipped or cleared to improve visualization of complex areas. |

| RealityLINx Exchange Features
Laser Scan Regions - Combine all laser scanning points into multiple scan regions
which are highly compressed for better data management and
storage.
- Users work in volumes rather than individual scans.
- Any scan Region can be immediately found, loaded and displayed
in the vicinity of a selected object.
- Since only Regions are displayed, project sizes are unlimited.
- Multiple Regions can be displayed at once, any time. |
Physical Data Manager (PDM) - Scan Data Update & Management Physical Data Manager (PDM) allows users to import laser scans
from all leading vendor formats (i.e., ASCII, FLS, PTX, ZFC, ZFS).
These import scans can be used to create Scan Regions, which can
be automatically updated with new or revised scan files using the
PDM. |
Data Clipping - Scan data can be clipped from the display or permanently
removed from the Region if it contains unwanted information.
- In complex areas, like pipeways or congested corridors, users can
slice thin layers of points to precisely locate critical items or
possible interfaces. |
Scan View - Users can instantly load the view from the position the scanner
was in when the data was collected. The user can then “look
around”, take measurements, overlay a 3D model, “walk” away from
the scanner’s eye, move around within the 3D model space and
load other scans - effectively taking a virtual tour of the plant.
- Provides a virtual look of the plant without the time and expense
of visiting the plant directly. |
Create 3D Models with ‘Model’ With the optional ‘Model’ license, users can select points within the
scan and use the Assisted Modeling tools to quickly create complex
components or systems, structures, vessels, etc. Objects can be
replaced with items from the design catalog. |
| Import and Synchronize Design Models with ‘Manage’ For MicroStation and PDS users, the optional Manage license allows
the user to import (and keep current) 3D design models in
RealityLINx® while the user works. Models can be organized and
displayed in an infinite number of user definable configurations, i.e.
by engineering discipline, pipe line number, fluid code, work area,
construction mark piece, etc. With a few clicks, the user can update
the RealityLINx® model with the source model and updates are
synchronized. With RealityLINx®’s robust and intuitive walk through
features, the user can see all changes AND the existing conditions
by overlapping the model and laser scan data in the easy to
navigate RealityLINx® viewer. |
