In order to turn complex volumes of data about the asset into usable information
that is easy to understand and is business actionable, INOVx has introduced an
innovative Asset-Centric software platform based on Virtualization of
electronic models, representing the actual physical conditions of the asset,
integrated with plant enterprise data systems such as SAP, Meridium, OSIsoft
and other operation and document management systems.

Although INOVx envisions that simplified access to relevant and contextual asset
information will lead to more knowledgeable workers throughout the
organization, the greatest value of integrated Virtualization is perhaps in
the enabling of new work processes to improve daily work habits in vital areas:
safety, compliance, operation, and maintenance.

|
At the heart of the INOVx solution is a 3D electronic model representing the
plant’s "as-built" data, and when integrated with applications for plant
maintenance, inspection, operations, competency and training, this
“Asset-Centric” solution offers a truly natural and simplified approach to
access the immense amount of asset data residing in various information
systems. It also opens up these systems to a broader base of users extending
the value of asset information data beyond the current utilization scope.
|
 |
| There are two key concepts behind INOVx’s Asset-Centric software platform:
|
 |
| First , it addresses a major challenge for many
plant owners. Virtualization of the plant in itself is valuable in that it
provides users across the organization with easy access to the plant’s "as-built"
engineering data. Since "as-built" data is an essential ingredient for daily
decision-making and work tasks in all disciplines, lack of timely access to
such information has presented a chronic problem in the industry that many
plant owners have long hoped to solve. Since there have been no viable
solutions to date, owners/operators have stopped considering the consequences
of this problem which is felt in the form of substantial rework costs, schedule
delays, extended down times and productivity losses.
|
 |
| Secondly, since 3D models can be seamlessly
integrated with various complex enterprise data and document systems, these
enterprise systems can now be accessed through Virtualization resulting in
unprecedented clarity of communication and accelerated decision making
processes for all plant personnel. It is also important to note that today,
plant’s "as-built" data is not accessible through enterprise systems which create
major disconnects in the overall plant information flow and in many cases leads
to prolonged decision cycles and response times, all of which will negatively
impact the bottom line.
